The iron, a dark grey, contrasts well with the following metals: 22K yellow gold (a rich yellow) or sterling silver (white).
These metal combinations make especially ideal men's wedding bands.
A ring in any of the iron metal combinations is only sold with a liner. The liner isolates the iron from the moisture and salts that are always present on the finger. We use platinum, any of our standard golds or sterling silver for the liners.
Normally this ring should not rust, but that is dependent on body chemistry (similar to reactions to sterling silver) and what you "get your hands into". So please keep in mind the special nature of this metal combination if you are considering ordering this ring.
We normally only make these as an etched ring. Since there is some surface difference between the iron and other metals, iron mokume rings will never have the same non-etched/matte finish gold or gold/silver mokume rings have.
