JBMA is a small studio just outside the city limits of Bellingham Washington. Jim and David, our two studio team members, work together to create exceptional pieces in mokume. Terry, Jim’s wife, works in the office providing our clients with personalized customer care.
JBMA, founded by Jim Binnion in 1991, works exclusively in mokume gane. Though most known for our mokume wedding rings, our mokume studio makes a wide range of jewelry and other items. Your mokume is made of the highest quality and craftsmanship. We enjoy communicating with our clients to ensure they receive the ring they envision.

Mokume gane originally referred to a pattern style used in tsubas and other samurai sword furniture. Today the term denotes the process of laminating metal and carving a pattern.
