About JBMA Mokume

JBMA is a small studio just outside the city limits of Bellingham Washington.  Jim works in the studio to create exceptional pieces in mokume and Damascus Stainless Steel.  Terry, Jim’s wife, works in the office providing our clients with personalized customer care.

JBMA, founded by Jim Binnion in 1991, works exclusively in mokume gane and Damascus Stainless Steel.  Though most known for our mokume wedding rings, our mokume studio makes a wide range of jewelry and other items.  Our mokume is made of the highest quality and craftsmanship.  We enjoy communicating with our clients to ensure they receive the ring they envision.

About Jim and Terry

Jim and Terry married in 1998. At the time Terry was working as a medical social worker in home health care. She had the opportunity to take a break in 1999 and started assisting Jim by answering emails, assisting clients and other office and business tasks. They are life partners and a great team.

Mokume gane originally referred to a pattern style used in tsubas and other samurai sword furniture.  Today the term denotes the process of laminating metal and carving a pattern.
