Gemstone Tuesday. Chrysoprase is an apple-green gemstone (though can be darker green) that is a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale. This makes it more ideal to use in earrings and pendants than in a ring. This is pair of earrings are in mokume of copper/brass/sterling silver with and overlay of 22K yellow gold and with 10mm chrysoprase. Other gemstones can be used. Rings are not the only way to wear gemstones with mokume. One of friends/clients could no longer wear her mokume and diamond ring. We used her ring and diamond to make a cuff bracelet.
