Description
SHIBUICHI WEDDING RING
Looking for a wedding band that is in traditional metals with a modern twist? Our shibuichi wedding rings are made with the traditional Japanese alloy of shibuichi and ContinuumTM sterling silver.
Shibuichi is a traditional Japanese copper / silver alloy. Shibuichi was often used to decorate the samurai swords handle and scabbard.
The name translates into English as “one quarter”. Our shibuichi is 75% copper and 25% silver.
Copper and silver are individually both very soft. However by mixing copper and silver to form an alloy, the hardness significantly increases. The resulting hardness allows us to make a very durable ring in shibuichi mokume.
While shibuichi is initially pale copper in color the alloy quickly will turn to a medium grey color in daily wear.
Our shibuichi rings are available in widths of 6mm to 10mm. We do not recommend adding rails or stones to these rings.
